Mid-States Services to Offer Fiber Broadband Internet to Homes and Businesses in Trenton

Trenton, MO – Faster internet, voice over internet service, streaming music, and video speeds could soon be coming to Trenton, Missouri.

Local internet provider, Mid-States Services will be asking residents and stakeholders in Trenton, Missouri about their interest in fiber broadband internet services in the coming weeks.

Mid-States Services is considering offering three fiber speed packages – 50 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 250 Mbps – to residents and businesses within the city limits of Trenton. Mbps is short for megabits per second, a measure of data transfer speed (a megabit is equal to one million bits).

“We are excited about the possibility of launching this fiber pilot project for our neighbors here in Trenton,” said Mid-States office manager Sarah Allen. “Having faster internet speeds will help our students to learn, our businesses to thrive, and allow more folks to relax with their favorite streaming services.”

Through high speed wireless and satellite internet services currently provided to Trenton, Albany, Bethany, Cainsville, Eagleville, Gallatin, Galt, Gilman City, Jameson, Lake Viking, Mercer, Milan, Pattonsburg, Princeton, and Ridgeway in Missouri and Clio and Lineville, Iowa, Mid-States Services is a familiar name to local households and businesses who want to be connected to the rest of the world and their information.

“Having fiber broadband in our town is a huge economic development tool for our business attraction and retention efforts,” explained Micah Landes of the “North Central Missouri Development Alliance.” “One of the first questions we are asked by new businesses is about internet speeds. This will help our entire town’s commercial and industrial operations move just a bit faster!”

Residents and business owners will be able to fill out an online survey stating their level of interest in the coming days. Mailers and door hangers with the survey will also be headed to individual homes as well. Representatives of Mid-States Services are also available to answer questions in person, over the phone, or over email.
